A congratulations is in order to The Oklahoman’s own Brandy McDonnell. The Arts & Entertainment Reporter won two Society of Professional Journalism Awards this past weekend.

McDonnell, who is also known by her initials “BAM”, covers all things movies, music, arts and entertainment for
The Oklahoman. BAM’s newest accolades from the Society of Professional Journalism include third place for Arts Criticism and second place for an Entertainment Feature.

The criticism award was earned for her stellar reviews, including a piece on Miranda Lambert’s concert, and her entertainment feature win was given for her provocative story on Oklahoma sculptor and photographer Holly Wilson.

Already the recipient of the 2015 Governor’s Arts Award for The Media in the Arts, BAM received the Society of Professional Journalist awards at its annual banquet held on Saturday, April 30.

As NewsOK’s top blogger, BAM has earned more than one million page views a year since her entrainment blog’s creation.
