The Oklahoma News Editors Associated Press recently recognized several Oklahoman journalists for excellence, including courthouse reporter Kyle Schwab. The journalists were honored at a statewide dinner on May 15 in Tulsa for their 2015 published works.

Kyle Schwab’s win as 2015’s Best New Journalist of The Year is the result of his outstanding coverage of several high-profile trials including that of an ex-missionary accused of sex crimes against children and of Daniel Holtzclaw, former police officer.

“We are so proud of Kyle and all our winners,” said Kelly Fry, editor and vice president of news at The Oklahoman. “Their passion never ceases to amaze. Our readers benefit from their talents on a daily basis.”

Additional honors bestowed on The Oklahoman include the sweepstakes award for photography and best website for NewsOK.com. The Oklahoman also received the award for general excellence.
