What can we all do today to change the world tomorrow?

What can we all do today to change the world tomorrow?

Some students face obstacles that other kids don’t have to deal with — obstacles like poverty, neglect, violence, and more — and North Highland Elementary’s students are no exception.

However, at North Highland a truly dedicated teaching staff has partnered with The Oklahoman to tutor their students and help them become better readers.

“The Oklahoman is just so committed and involved. Our students see that there are people in the community who care about them,” Patricia says. “They come in and give our kids an extra push to succeed, and they’ve been doing so for 22 years.”

Well, we’ve always been inspired by how determined the students are! Here’s to their bright future, one enriched and empowered by a love of reading.

Make that change by volunteering at an OKC public school and read more about them when you subscribe to The Oklahoman today.
