The Oklahoman’s food editor, Dave Cathey, keeps his eye on culinary arts and serves up news and reviews from Oklahoma’s booming food scene.
He has won numerous awards for his Food Dude column.
He began in December of 1990 and has worked in sports, as bureau chief in Norman, assistant metro editor, assistant city editor, and state editor before becoming food editor in 2008.
He hosts “Open Flame” at American Propane for NewsOK.com, which gathers local chefs to demonstrate outdoor cooking recipes.
In 2013, his first book, “A Culinary History of Pittsburg County,” was published by History Press. He is working on his second collaboration with History Press, “The Historic Restaurants of Oklahoma City,” which is due Feb. 2016.
