What can we all do today to change the world tomorrow?
At North Highland Elementary they believe boosting student reading skills is the best way to change the world. But most of their students struggle against obstacles many kids never have to face.
“The Oklahoman tutors have been our most faithful, and they’ve really changed lives over 22 years,” Debra says. The one-on-one has strengthened verbal fluency, improved comprehension, and raised test scores.
On top of that, research shows kids who read the newspaper score 25% higher on achievement tests (Institute of Education). Those results have Debra saying, “If every business adopted a school, we could change the world.”
